Route 66

Today we head out on the Mother Road with no specific destination.

En-route we visited Lincoln's Tomb in Springfield, Illinois; the Cozy Dog Drive In - the birthplace of the Corn Dog; the oldest gas station on Route 66 and Cahokia.

Cahokia is the remnants of North America's largest prehistoric city. Highlights were Monk's Mound and the Woodhenge sun calendar.

Back on the road and driving through Collinsville, the trees parted to reveal the World's Largest Catsup (Ketchup) Bottle!?

We then holed up for the night in a scuzzy motel on Hwy 157 with a pizza and Sharon Stone!

Mileage = 344.5 miles
