After the trauma of trying to find petrol, we left Las Vegas and Nevada behind.En route to Joshua Tree we drove through the mother of all thunder storms - big lightning, big rain and big hailstones!
We stopped for lunch at Vidal Junction (because we're worth it!) which is in the middle of nowhere.
After breaking the 4000 mile barrier at Iron Mountain we hit a few snags...
Route 62 - CLOSED
Pinto Basin Road - CLOSED (Well actually it had been washed away!)
So we had to go around the houses (and hills) to reach our final destination of Twentynine Palms.
Unfortunately there was no room at the Historic Inn, so we stopped at another El Rancho!
Mileage = 378.3 miles
