The darkness descended we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights - they're kinda like Willow the Wisp (remember that!?) only more colourful.

We were determined to get off the icecap. We had a few problems - Alistair's pulk fell into a crevasse, then two minutes later, so did mine :(

It was not easy going, but we were finally off the icecap. So we pitched the tent on a sandbank between two glacial rivers and caught forty winks...
